Funded by Ignitis Renewables, the renovated multifunctional sports field of Vecumnieki Secondary School has become an important gathering place for the local community. The opening celebration brought together local residents and sports enthusiasts. A 3×3 basketball tournament was organised during the event, with Ignitis Renewables team competing among 16 teams.

The sports field was designed for year-round use. In summer it hosts training sessions and competitions, while in winter it transforms into an ice rink. It is already being actively used by both students and local residents, serving as a meeting place for those who value active lifestyle. The project has not only improved sports infrastructure, but also strengthened the sense of community in Vecumnieki.
