On 5 September, the festival Savos Bangos. Sustainable Future Creators’ Laboratory, held in Klaipėda’s Theatre Square, brought together experts from various fields, organisations, and visitors for a joint discussion on a more sustainable future. Throughout the day, educational and interactive spaces were open, where visitors could try out energy-generation experiments, explore the micro-world of the Baltic Sea, learn about waste sorting solutions and energy storage technologies, and take part in creative workshops. This year, particular attention was paid to renewable energy, wind and the Baltic Sea.
One of the festival’s highlights was the Lithuanian Sea Museum’s educational programme Port of Winds, which invited visitors to step into the shoes of wind farm planners.
There was also an educational space run by Ignitis Renewables, where visitors could learn more about renewable energy through games and experiments. The programme was complemented by expert discussions, a knowledge quiz, creative activities and musical performances, all designed to encourage an exploration of sustainability themes through learning, experience and engagement.
