Ignitis Renewables community gathering in Kaunas brought together more than 20 associations and communities from different regions of Lithuania for a shared day focused on partnership, community spirit and education on energy. Held at Science Island, the event welcomed nearly 150 participants, including community representatives, children, young people and partners. The gathering created a space for in-person dialogue, exchange of experiences and discussions on community-led initiatives, long-term cooperation and the role of local projects in strengthening communities.
The event programme also included educational activities for children and young people. The youngest participants built smart LEGO houses and explored the basics of electricity, while older children constructed wind turbine models and students searched for practical ways to save electricity in their daily lives. Through initiatives like this, Ignitis Renewables aims to strengthen ties with local communities, promote interest in renewable energy and build long-term, trust-based relationships guided by the principle of good neighbourship.
