The international kite festival “Vėjų vėjai”, held on the last weekend of May at Melnragė Beach in Klaipėda, attracted record interest in 2026, welcoming around 15,000 visitors. Over two days, the festival brought together families, communities, and seaside guests for creativity, discovery, and active leisure. Visitors took part in educational activities, creative workshops, and other experiences, while kites from Lithuania and abroad filled the skies above Klaipėda.
The festival programme featured an educational space by Ignitis Renewables, where visitors could try wind turbine construction kits, learn about energy generation principles, and gain hands-on experience with offshore wind energy. These activities attracted strong interest from children, young people, and adults alike. Participants actively engaged in the activities, explored wind energy, and discussed questions about the future of energy. Hands-on activities and engaging conversations helped present complex energy topics in an accessible and interesting way.
