People living next to the wind farms we are developing cherish, nurture and protect their environment. As good neighbours, we respect and understand the concerns the locals might have regarding any potential changes. This is why we’re striving to build a relationship with local communities based on openness and good will, for it is the foundation of being a good neighbour.

In our efforts to be good neighbours and build mutual trust, we actively listen to the needs and expectations of local communities and we share relevant information about our projects, including their environmental impact and the measures we take to mitigate it.

Along our contributions to protect the environment, improve the quality of life and promote energy efficiency, we provide financial support for community projects.

How do we collaborate?

We aim to minimise potential negative impact on communities and to be a trusted member of the communities. When forming and improving our sustainability activities, we consider the opinion of the community members, therefore, we prioritise open and active communication.
We aim to collaborate with the communities in a consistent and unified manner, with special focus on bilaterally beneficial partnerships, activities and projects.

We consult

We engage with local communities from the earliest stages of project development and continue the open dialogue throughout the lifetime of our projects.

We build relationships

We regularly meet with local residents, landowners, community representatives, municipalities and other stakeholders to understand their expectations, discuss project developments and maintain an open dialogue.

We educate

We help local communities and the wider public learn more about renewable energy. We organise educational visits to our wind and solar farms, explain how renewable electricity is generated, and implement broader educational initiatives.

We support

We support communities located near Ignitis Renewables projects by providing funding opportunities for initiatives that strengthen local communities and contribute to their well-being.

We nurture talent

We cooperate with schools, universities and young people interested in the energy sector. Through the #EnergySmartSTART programme, we organise educational visits, meetings with experts, lectures and internship opportunities, award scholarships, and help young talents build strong connections with the renewable energy industry.
