Meet Hannah Croysdill, Offshore Environmental Intern at Ignitis Renewables

Hannah Croysdill is a dedicated environmentalist who recently joined the Ignitis Renewables team as an Offshore Environmental Intern. Working on the Curonian Nord project, Lithuania’s first offshore wind farm, she supports the environment and permitting team in exploring best practices for managing and conserving the marine environment. Her role includes researching ways to mitigate the potential impacts of offshore wind farms on marine ecosystems—a task that resonates deeply with her passion for sustainability.

“For me, it’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a team where I can apply the skills I’ve gained at university to have a positive impact on the environment,” Hannah says. Her enthusiasm for environmental conservation aligns perfectly with the goals of Ignitis Renewables, making it an ideal place for her to start her career.

A Summer of Learning and Growth

Hannah has carefully planned her internship to take place during the Lithuanian summer, and it’s clear she’s made the most of the experience. “I’m lucky enough to be able to cycle to work most days, which is a great way to start the morning,” she says with a smile. Her days at Ignitis Renewables include a mix of catch-ups with colleagues, fulfilling work assignments, and occasionally a friendly chess game with members of the office’s chess club.

She appreciates the laid-back yet passionate atmosphere in the workplace. “A workplace that is so relaxed, friendly, and dedicated to its mission makes it such a special and pleasant place to be working and learning.”

Overcoming Challenges and Gaining Confidence

Hannah’s journey at Ignitis has not been without its challenges, but each has helped her grow. “One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is learning to be more confident and take initiative. Being part of the team working on Lithuania’s first offshore wind farm means there are a lot of unknowns, and I’ve realized that every opinion counts.”

This role has taught her to speak up and offer her perspectives, knowing that all contributions—no matter how small—are valuable to the project’s success. This experience has enhanced her confidence and problem-solving skills, making her a more proactive and engaged team member.

Making a Positive Impact

When asked what she enjoys most about her role at Ignitis Renewables, Hannah’s response is clear: “What I like most is being part of a team that’s making a positive difference—not just for the environment, but also for Lithuania’s energy independence. Knowing that I’m playing even a small part in that effort is incredibly fulfilling.”

For Hannah, this internship is more than just a learning experience. It’s a chance to actively contribute to a project that aligns with her values and aspirations, all while working in a supportive and motivating environment.
