We invite communities that live in the vicinity of Ignitis Renewables wind farms and/or solar parks to submit applications to support the projects and initiatives important to the communities financially.
Ignitis Renewables has provided support to communities for four consecutive years. Ignitis Renewables will have granted almost 2.5 million euros to communities in Lithuania, Latvia and Poland over the 4 years of the program’s operation.
The support recipients can be legal entities that were registered for at least 1 year prior to the application date, have the status of a support recipient and meet other requirements laid down in the Law on Charity and Sponsorship.
Support may be provided for social, educational, artistic, cultural, scientific and sports projects (excluding professional, extreme and high-risk sports). Activities that create economic benefits may also be supported, for example, raising the competences of community members, strengthening entrepreneurship, improving infrastructure, and creating jobs. Support may also be provided for projects that contribute to environmental protection, ecology, and nature conservation.
The neighbours of the wind farms we develop include people who cherish, preserve and protect their land. From the very start, our relationship with local communities is based on openness and good will. It is the foundation for being a good neighbour.
We are trying to be a good neighbour and promote mutual trust by listening to the expectations and needs of local communities while sharing relevant information about the projects we develop, their impact on the environment and the measures we take to reduce it.
We work on nurturing the environment, improving the quality of life and promoting energy efficiency by providing financial support for local community projects.

Working together
More and more communities are actively utilising the financial support made available to them to improve their daily lives.
Our town has a long history and more than one cultural object. We were considering a pilgrim road that was being built from Pikeliai to Poland. Pilgrims passing the town need a place to sleep, make lunch or dinner and have a shower. So, we used a part of the financial support the town received to install sleeping accommodations, shower and a kitchenette at the community’s premises.

Representative of Pikeliai communityThe gymnasium stadium is surrounded by thorny hedges, so when playing football, the balls would often be damaged or get into private properties. To avoid the resulting conflicts and to upgrade the barriers, it was decided to build a 90 metre fence for catching balls. This made the stadium, which is very important to the community, more attractive and functional.
